Tina Turner Drape & Build
For this project, I was tasked with sewing through heavy sequin fabric. In these photos, you can see the fitting photos, a close-up of the fabric, my reworking of the bodice piece, and the final project. Through this project, I learned about draping feminine silhouettes for a man and how it is quite different from a female body.
Rexy Drape & Build
Personally, I feel this project is the best example of my progress in graduate school. This fabric was a sheer and delicate white chiffon. The skirt, while simple, was difficult to stitch, as the ‘gores’ were not attached at all points. This dress was also rigged to be a quick change, and therefore on the left side it opens all the way down for a quick ‘getaway’! Credit to Sierra Adamo for the creation of the headpiece.
