Tailoring & Period Draping
Fully Tailored Ladies Jacket
Through this project, I’ve learned about how to support roll lines, how to canvas and interface body pieces, and how to pad-stitch! I really enjoy hand-stitching, so a lot of this was quite relaxing. The inner part of the lapel is a suede, and there are cute lace details underneath the pocket flaps.
Draping I Final
This final was designed, patterned, and constructed by myself in the first year of my graduate school.
Period Double-Breasted Vest
This piece was patterned and constructed by me! I had never done anything ‘double-breasted’, so this was a little bit of a learning experience. I also chose to make this project fitted to one of our actors, so it also had that added challenge as well.
Period Draping - Corset
Period Draping
This piece was done from top to bottom. The panniers and the crotchless bloomers were patterned and made by me as well. The underskirt is draped in a way that accomodates the panniers underneath it. More photos of this project to come! [Stay tuned]
Period Draping
This was a studio project exploring how to create the “S” shape over a bum roll and with a bodice.
Period Draping, 1880s
This piece was the exploration of the 1880s large bustle shape, and how to drape and pattern accordingly. I am quite happy with the result!
